Katelyn joined Dodson Gregory in December 2016 after practicing at a local civil defense firm. Prior to that, she worked for two years as an attorney and Clark-Clemon Fellow with the Jefferson County Public Defender’s Office. As an Assistant Public Defender, Katelyn represented hundreds of criminal defendants, both in their criminal cases and also with related collateral matters, in Jefferson County and the surrounding areas.
Katelyn earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. While at Cumberland, Katelyn was a member of and Editor for the Cumberland Law Review. She was named to the Dean’s List, was a Caruthers Fellow, and was a two-time Scholar of Merit recipient. Prior to attending law school, Katelyn graduated from the University of Alabama, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a focus in Biology.
Katelyn is admitted to practice in all state courts in Alabama. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar Association.
Katelyn and her husband Todd have two dogs and two little boys. When she is not in the office, Katelyn loves to do anything outside. She enjoys hiking, gardening, spending time with her family, and dabbling in photography. She’s a terrible cook, but she enjoys a good meal on the back patio.
